Miles for Mentoring Welcome Home

and Corn Hole For a Cause

 together @ Truckee Tahoe Airport

September  14, 2019…

Hardy and gang are back for the 11th year in a row to ride for kids sake.  All proceeds from the ride go to support BBBS and local mentoring efforts.https://www.mightycause.com/story/Adventuremiles2019

Hardy Bullock got involved 12 years ago while finding a beneficiary for a fundraising effort involving a bunch of friends riding 300 miles, non-stop from the Pacific Ocean to Truckee CA.

The ride has survived the test of time. Now 11 years later the event has raised over $140K for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nevada County. The ride has covered every inch of the Northern Sierras all the way to the Coast and back. This year the ride is designed to appeal to everyone with prizes supporting teens and families as well as folks who want to race.

This year the course will cover approximately 35 miles of gravel, pavement and single-track. Strava Link (Coming Soon). Here is how the PURSE SHAKES OUT!

  • Every teen who finishes gets a $10 Coffee Bar Gift Card and a $10 donation in their name to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nevada County.
  • The winner with the lowest time measured by Strava gets $100 and $100 donation in their name to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nevada County.
  • The person who can prove to me they were the most unprepared and suffered in a greatly undignified way while supporting other riders will receive $100
  • and $100 donation in their name to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nevada County.
  • Everybody else I challenge you to raise money, donate, ride and have an absolute blast.

Our signature sponsor who makes it all happen is One Toyota of Oakland. Making the car buying experience a personal and rewarding match; one price, one person, right to your door. The easiest way to buy a car from your trusted dealership, One Toyota.

If you want to ride make a $30 or more donation here https://www.mightycause.com/story/Adventuremiles2019and text “I’m in [name][phone]” to (530)913-8061.

Thank you to all the riders and donors who have committed to helping others over the years.  There will be a police escort at the end of the ride ending at the Truckee Tahoe Airport where the Corn Hole tournament will be taking place

By Founder Hardy Bullock-The idea started ten years ago when we would ride our bikes from the Pacific Ocean to Truckee in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nevada County. As a father of two I had a sense of obligation to lend a hand in raising kids who needed just a bit more help to get by. Before I started working with BBBS I didn’t know any littles — a name given to children involved in the project — or any bigs, for that matter. I had no idea how many kids in my community were just on the program’s waitlist or how difficult it is to find funds to pay for programs that help children. Girls and boys alike benefit from the support and guidance of an adult mentor and that is what BBBS does; it pairs children with a positive role model who teaches their littles to be part of the community, to be part of a solution, to love others, and, most importantly, to be loved themselves.

Last year’s ride 2018

On September 9, 2018 organizers original founder of the ride Hardy Bullock will set out with friends and supporters to once again  ride miles of gravel while raising money in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters’ programs in Truckee and North Lake Tahoe. “We want the community to be able to join us in this amazing experience in riding bicycles for a purpose. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nevada County and North Lake Tahoe works so hard to support the youth in this community, why not get more people to participate and change lives.” – Hardy Bullock, founder
